Research & Instruction Librarian – Phoenix Campus

Biography: 

CJ Garcia earned his Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona in 2022, where he also earned a Certificated in Instruction and Teaching for Librarians. He previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classics from Arizona State University in 2019. Prior to coming to Creighton in 2023, he worked at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences and the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, both in the Phoenix Metro.

CJ is a member of the Medical Library Association, the Academy of Health Information Professionals, the Research Data Access and Preservation Association, NASIG, and the Medical Library Group of Southern California and Arizona. 

His research interests include best practices in online instructional design, the role of libraries in advancing open science, the impact of artificial intelligence on scholarly publishing and evidence synthesis projects, and the intersection of research data management and archival practice.
